Ethics Statement

Research and Publication Ethics

The Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovations (JETI) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics, strictly adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We ensure that all research published within our journal maintains the utmost integrity, transparency, and scientific rigor.

AUTHORSHIP

Authorship credit is a significant responsibility and must be based on the following three criteria:
1. Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
2. Drafting the article or providing critical revisions for important intellectual content.
3. Final approval of the version to be published.

All individuals listed as authors must meet all three requirements. Once a manuscript has been accepted, no modifications to the author list (additions, deletions, or changes in order) are permitted.

ORIGINALITY AND DUPLICATE PUBLICATION

All manuscripts submitted to JETI must be original and must not be under consideration for publication by any other scientific journal simultaneously.
• No part of an accepted work may be published elsewhere without the express written consent of the Editorial Board.
• If a duplicate publication is discovered, a formal announcement of the violation will be published in the journal, the authors’ home institutions will be notified, and the paper will be immediately retracted.

CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST STATEMENT

A conflict of interest exists when an author (or the author’s institution/employer) has financial or personal relationships that could inappropriately influence or bias their decisions, work, or manuscript.
• Disclosure: All authors must disclose potential conflicts of interest on the cover letter and the final page of the manuscript.
• Mandatory Statement: Authors are required to complete the Conflicts of Interest Disclosure Form. If no conflict exists, please include the following statement: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript."

RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION MISCONDUCT

JETI maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding research misconduct. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Fabrication: The recording or reporting of fictitious data, facts, or outcomes.
• Falsification: The manipulation of research materials, equipment, or processes, or the alteration/omission of data such that the research is not accurately represented in the final record.
• Plagiarism: The appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit. This includes Self-Plagiarism, where an author reuses significant portions of their own previously published work without proper citation or justification. All submissions are screened using Turnitin.

PENALTIES FOR PUBLICATION VIOLATIONS

If a violation of JETI’s ethical principles is identified:
1. Rejection/Withdrawal: The handling editor shall reject manuscripts under review or formally withdraw and retract papers already published.
2. Notification: The offender and their respective institution will be notified in writing of the Editorial Board’s findings.
3. Banning: Authors found in breach of ethics are forbidden from submitting any manuscripts to JETI for a period of three (3) years from the decision date.
4. Appeals: Suspected authors may submit a written objection and request reconsideration only if new evidence is provided within 30 days of the notification.
