Peer Review Policy
Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovations (JETI) maintains a rigorous, independent, and transparent peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scientific research. All research articles submitted to JETI undergo a Single-Blind Peer Review process.
1. Submission and Initial Desk Review
Upon submission, every manuscript is subjected to an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) or an Associate Editor. This "Desk Review" assesses:
• Alignment with the journal’s Aims and Scope.
• Technical quality and adherence to Author Guidelines.
• Originality and ethical compliance (via Turnitin screening). Manuscripts that do not meet these fundamental criteria are rejected immediately without further review to allow authors to submit elsewhere without delay.
2. External Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two (2) independent subject-matter experts for evaluation. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, publication history, and absence of conflicts of interest.
• Confidentiality: Reviewers are required to treat the manuscript as a confidential document.
• Objectivity: Reviewers provide a detailed assessment of the study's methodology, originality, clarity of results, and scientific significance.
3. Editorial Decision Process
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers' recommendations and the manuscript’s overall contribution to the field. Authors will receive one of the following decisions:
• Accept: The manuscript is ready for publication without further changes.
• Minor Revision: The manuscript is acceptable pending small technical or linguistic corrections.
• Major Revision: The manuscript requires significant additional experimentation, data analysis, or rewriting before it can be reconsidered.
• Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in JETI.
4. Revision and Final Approval
• Timeline: Authors are typically granted 30 days to address the reviewers' comments for a Major Revision.
• Re-evaluation: Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers to ensure that all technical concerns have been adequately addressed.
• Final Authority: The final decision for publication rests solely with the Editorial Board.
5. Integrity and Ethics in Review
JETI adheres to the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. Any reviewer who identifies a potential conflict of interest (financial, institutional, or personal) must disclose this to the editor and recuse themselves from the review process. We are committed to a review process that is fair, unbiased, and constructive.
